For all my life, I’ve been deeply fascinated with the cosmos for its immense scale and profound interconnectedness.

Learning how the familiar environs of everyday life were nested within ever-larger cosmic systems and had a tangible impact on one another was nothing short of sublime.

When I first learned about the solar system, I was amazed by the harsh magnificence of our planetary neighbors. Yet the planet I found most beautiful was Earth: the only planet with clear blue skies and seas, with life in any of its myriad forms, a lone island in a hostile cosmic sea.
